Every day the same dream
Rated 1 / 5 stars July 1, 2010
Overhyped
If your game doesn't have lasers or hit points, that means its art. Right?
Its extremely pretentious to set out to make a piece of art. You don't just decide to make art. You have to pour yourself into your work and hope that it is art, and be happy if it isn't.
The graphic style is interesting, the music is good. The message of the game? It sucks to be a white collar white guy. I'm sure the unemployed people, the starving people of third world countries, and those living under tyrannical governments around the world are glad they aren't boring white people.
This is not art. Its predictable drivel crafted to look like art. Black and white game, check. no action, check. slow mood driven music, check. limited color for contrast, check. Haphazard message about life that your average person might already think, check. Surreal art scheme, check.
Put that formula together and anything you make is going to be drooled over and called art by the philistines.

Unique!
Nice. When they say you only live once, they really really really mean it.

Over-Rated
Story, graphics and sound are good but it seems that you cant get it into your head that walking back and forth isn't a puzzle. Pacing between screens is not problem solving, its boring and tedious.

An exellent example of pacing.
As the title of this review suggests, this song is an excellent example of pacing. You managed to suck me into the song and keep me interested. Subtle shifts kept it from sounding repetitive at any point, which is quite a feat.

I'm afraid to keep listening...
Ever see that video of the kid getting hit with the shovel? I've watched it for hours cause it gets funnier every time. This is exactly like that in music form.

Inspiring
Wow... this was really amazing. Everything was perfect. A great way to tell a short story.
SPOILER!!
For me, the story I got was that the main character is living in some kind of police state. He invents a drug that reverses your gravity. The police find him and he escapes the only way possible, by falling into the sky. He takes off and one of the police chicks catches him. She is calling for backup, but he sprays the chemical on her to make her fly too. She throws him away. The drug wears off and he falls into a place where people look to be free. I assume he splats on the ground after 5 minutes of the greatest freedom anyone has ever felt. I cant say I wouldnt have done the same thing in his winged shoes.

All True
This should be filed under documentary. Its amazing what we put up with back then, but aside from the NES requiring foreplay to work, it was a beast. Most of them still work. My uncle drove over his kids NES with a suburban because they were playing it too much. No Lie... when they were done crying, my cousins hooked it back up and the damn thing still worked. compare that to the systems today that melt if you play them too long. I guess our kids will look back and laugh at us for that.

Very Cool
Very Cool! Needs a sequel with sick mutant on mutant action.
In Case of HL3- nice
